SolarForge Direct respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
Who we are

What we collect
- Quote requests: your name, company, email address, phone number, VAT number (optional), delivery address, the products you are interested in, and any notes you add.
- Messages: information you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Accounts: if you register a trade account, your login details and your quote history.
- Technical information: basic information your browser sends (such as IP address and device type), which our hosting and security providers process to deliver and protect the website.
Why we use it
- To prepare and send quotations, process orders, invoice you and deliver your goods.
- To contact you about your quotation, order, delivery or warranty claims.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To keep the website secure and understand, in aggregate, how it is used.
We do not sell your personal information. We only send marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where needed to run our business, with service providers who are bound to protect it:
- our website hosting and security providers (including Cloudflare);
- our email provider (Google Workspace) and accounting system (Zoho Books);
- suppliers and manufacturers, where needed to fulfil an order or a warranty claim;
- authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on providers that are subject to data-protection laws or agreements that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA.
Cookies and analytics
- The website uses essential cookies to remember your quote list and, if you log in, your session. These are needed for the site to work.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies or track you across other websites.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 2 years. Records of orders and invoices are kept for as long as tax and company law requires, usually at least 5 years.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
